Acting Head of the Shipping Administration Mykola Kravchuk signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Sweden on the sidelines of the 110th session of the IMO MSC meeting.
Swedish-flagged vessels effectively comply with international maritime safety standards and ensure seafarers' rights. Sweden, in particular, is on the "white list" of the Paris MoU and, as of 2024, has a low detention rate — 5 out of 325.
During the meeting with Pernilla Wallin, Deputy Director of the Civil Aviation and Maritime Department of the Swedish Transport Agency, further cooperation was coordinated.
Elections to the Council, monitoring russian attacks and the shadow fleet are key issues of collaboration.
The evacuation of ships from the blocked ports of Kherson and Mykolaiv and the role of the International Maritime Organization therein were additionally discussed.
Mykola Kravchuk thanked Pernilla Wallin for the meeting and invited her to visit Ukraine.
