Acting Head of the Shipping Administration Mykola Kravchuk spoke with Luс Smulders about the first steps of the Ukrainian side to intensify the process of joining the MoU.
The need to complete a self-assessment form to understand the current state of Ukrainian legislation in the maritime sector was identified. Such a roadmap will allow Ukraine to fulfil the basic requirements for joining the organisation as a partner country first and will pave the way for full membership in the future.
The parties agreed to coordinate activities and facilitate the arrival of the Paris Memorandum monitoring mission to Ukraine to review the activities in the field of port state control.
Mykola Kravchuk invited Mr. Smulders to visit Ukraine personally and thanked him for his support of Ukraine's integration into the European community.
